Week Ahead Conditions Forecast & Weekend Wrap Up

Nature is going to keep us in business for at least one more week. That’s right… after all that yard work you just did between getting out on the mountain, snow and rain in the forecast! But that’s for later in this post.

Weekend Wrap Up

I am trying to keep the front page relatively brief, but want to share details of trail reports too. You can always submit anonymously and don’t have to agree to share your specific report. Here are the reports from the weekend:

Week Ahead Conditions Forecast

So maybe I hyped it up a bit, but water from the sky is the name of the game for this midweek. Expect Tuesday and Wednesday to be blustery and damp with a chance of the white stuff overnight at trailhead levels and maybe a bit of thunder. National Weather Service has said they aren’t expecting a lot of water in this round so probably won’t significantly impact the trail conditions. Otherwise, warm and dry with some wind.

Speaking of marginally detectable changes, I’ve been working behind the scenes here to try and find existing resources that provide current conditions data about our little mountain. You may have noticed my usage of the Tahoe Fire Cameras. Most of the satellite data is way too low resolution for this usage (example below), but there has been some cool stuff I’m coming across. If any of y’all know of webcams, satellite data, or something else that helps with at least weekly tracking of conditions, shoot me an email and I’ll check it out.

As always, keep the trail reports coming and I’ll see y’all on the next ride around!
