Trail Karma Opportunity:

  • Saturday, 9:00 am, Sky Tavern:

    • Sky Tavern will be holding regular trail maintenance and build days going forward, now that they have a good general structure and trail system. They now have five top to bottom downhills and one “EZ UP” trail to the top of Sky Tavern where the Tamarack trail ends at the Sky Tavern property line. Any one interested should be at Sky Tavern Lodge entrance at 9am to sign release and get work assignments. Sunscreen, close toed shoes, helmets or hardhats, and gloves recommended.

  • Thursday, June 30:

    • 5:30 am

      • The IsPeavineDry.com Peavine Dawn Patrol easy ride will roll out from the Keystone East trailhead. This mountain bike ride goes for between 60 and 90 minutes and is always easy effort. See you bright and early!

      • Silver State Striders MAY be running in the 48th Annual Ponderosa Ridge Run. This is a fun run awarding a survivor ribbon at the end that starts at Spooner Summit on Highway 50. There is ambiguity about if the event is happening this year so check their Facebook Group Page for the most up to date information.

  • Monday, July 04:

    • Independence Day. Enjoy!

Trail Outlook

Near perfect! Sure, the afternoons are going to be windy and that may impact fireworks, but otherwise the heat is letting off just a little and there are no water or thunderstorms in the forecast. Keep your fingers crossed that the Rices fire doesn’t blow up and we might be smoke free over the holiday weekend. Have a great weekend!

If you get out, let us know what you saw by submitting a trail report.

Be kind, be safe, and enjoy.

Top to bottom dry.
