Weekend Outlook 6/23-6/26, 2022

Trail Work Warning: Steamboat Ditch Skyline to Belford

  • Fire fuels reduction work is ongoing near the Steamboat Ditch trail between Skyline Drive and Belford Road. This work is being done by a herd of goats supported by flock protection dogs, shepherds, and temporary containment fencing. No direct impacts to the trail are expected, but please keep your dogs leashed, don’t disturb any temporary fencing, and know that the flock protection dogs may wander over to say hello. More information available in this linked article on ThisIsReno.com.

Trail Outlook

Excellent! Hot down here in the Truckee Meadows, but for being the end of June, it’s not scorching and there are plenty of events and open trails to get out and enjoy yourself solo or with a group. We are starting to see the vegetation dry up so fire season is a spark away. Otherwise, pack a water bottle and sunscreen because there is no bad time to be outside this weekend.

If you get out, let us know what you saw by submitting a trail report.

Be kind, be safe, and enjoy.

Top to bottom dry.
