Weekend Outlook 7/29-8/01, 2021

RTC’s new FlexRide route runs between Galena and Incline Village/Sand Harbor. $5 one-way for all drops except Sand Harbor (+$2 to cover park entry). Multiple drop-off/pickup locations up on the mountain. And the vans have bike racks. ;) More details at the link. You have to call RTC to book this ride and if you want to take your bikes, book early. There are six seats on the bus but only 2 bike racks.

Here are the events that are on the radar for the last weekend of July:

• Thursday, July 29, 6pm:

  • Trail Karma Opportunity: Reno Running Co and gear hut summer trail cleanup series continues at North Valleys Regional Park. Open to all trail users, this is being billed as a trail showcase where you also pitch in by cleaning the trail. Food and raffle will be on site. Details on their Facebook Event Listing. This week the event will also include a “Introduction to Trail Running” clinic.

Trail Outlook

Cross our fingers the fires continue to improve and the smoke clears back out because the conditions otherwise will be absolutely prime for this time of year. Looks like low nineties and high eighties with minimal wind and some drizzles or isolated thunderstorms. Every day of the weekend shows chances for precipitation throughout the day so we might even knock down some of the dust. Here’s to getting out while the getting is good.
