Weekend Outlook 5/21-5/23, 2021

I was going to make a wise crack about the weather, but facebook reminded me that this time nearly every year it’s raining. A LOT. So I’ll take the snow flurries and dry trails.

Trail Karma Opportunity:

Biggest Little Trail Stewards are hosting a trail work day this Sunday morning to continue to buff out the sierra vista trail section that got rained out last weekend. RSVP still requested.Details in the link and on their Facebook events page.

Relatedly, if you have a volunteer opportunity around multimodal access on or around Peavine, email me and I will get it worked into the lineup.

Trail Outlook

The wind is expected to continue through today (Friday) and precipitation of mixed rain and snow flurries through Saturday. Not as much water is expected in this system as last weekend. Got a quick ride through Keystone and Upper Evans last night and trail surfaces were dry. Sunday will likely be the best day weather wise to be outside, but Saturday could turn out to be quite nice if cool, overcast, and slightly precipitating is your thing.

As always, if you get out on the mountain, submit a trail report and let us know how it is. I’ll update the front page as reports come in.
