Weekday Trail Outlook and Upcoming Events 9/26-10/02, 2022

Trail Outlook: October Summer

  • Hope you didn’t bury the summer gear just yet. Another warm and gorgeous entry to October. Dry trails with temperatures creeping into summer highs by the end of the week and some evening gusty winds. For the riders and runners out there, one downside noticed after all those lovely rains was marbles in the corners. Watch your footing and leaning into curves this fall because the dust and light sand got washed out of trail corner and all that is left is marble size gravel that will roll under foot/tire fairly easy. If you haven’t been on a local trail since the last round of weather, keep your speed slightly below mach chicken for best results.

  • Trail Damage Warning: Whites Creek had some serious flooding in the early August round of downpours. Major trail damage along much of the lower section of trail as well as some of the upper section. The local trail managers are all aware of the damage and would appreciate users seeking alternate routes until they are able to get repairs done. Due to the extensive nature of the current damage, that may not be this year. If you are planning on doing the Dry Pond loop, be careful or consider an out and back on the Thomas Creek side.
