Congratulations and Thank You, Jaleesa!

One of the most satisfying parts of having this website is getting to know all of you who care so much about getting out and sharing stoke on Reno trails. Today, I get the bittersweet honor of posting a special thank you to one of those people. This woman went above and beyond to make sure our little community resource kept enabling that stoke and access.

Jaleesa, now Doctor Jaleesa, reached out when I asked for a local site manager while I was living out of the area. Knowing it was a volunteer role, she took on the responsibility. For the last two and a half years, she has been the primary person updating the front page, fielding trail reports, and responding to emails. She never asked for anything in particular, added some cool new content to the site, and kept this all going while working on her PhD.

Now, with a successful PhD defense in the bag, Dr. Jaleesa is on to bigger and better things. She is passing the keys to the site back to me in the same humble and unassuming way she joined up. I’m sorry to see her move on, excited for her next steps, and thankful for all the work she has done for our little trails community. Please join me in saying thank you to Jaleesa for all her hard work keeping the trail stoke high by donating to the site. 100% of site donations between when this post goes live and the end of June will go straight to Jaleesa as a thank you for her service.

Sincerely,

Patrick Smith

On a related note, we’re looking for a new site manager. If you are interested in joining our scrappy little team, email me or DM our Instagram account @IsPeavineDry for more information.
