Trail Outlook: Freeze Thaw Slow Drying

Overnight freezes with moderate daytime temps are allowing some of the lower elevation trails to slowly melt out. There is still coverage on most trails around and above Hoge Rd. Many trails will continue to have some mud, snow, or frozen ground depending on when you get out. These conditions are likely to change quickly from Sunday through next week as another round of temps in the 50s is expected to roll through.

This Weekend’s Events

For those who are shifting to winter sports, Tahoe Split Fest is happening from Feb 9 - Feb 11 in South Lake Tahoe. Info about the event can be found here.
Be sure to check out Sierra Avalanche Center’s forecast if you intend to travel in the back country.

Saturday, Feb 10:

Silver State Striders are meeting at Mayberry Landing near Eclipse Pizza at 8 a.m. and running an out and back near Mayberry Landing for 16-18 miles (route specifics here).
