Trail Reports and Weekend Outlook for April 12-14th

Weekend Outlook

It seems safe to say that spring has sprung. Most trails have dried out since the last snow storm. There are still some very small lingering wet areas/snow patches on shade-prone and upper elevation trails, but those spots are quickly disappearing. Unless a late season snow storm rolls through, expect trails to remain clear and rideable. I wouldn’t plant your tomatoes quite yet though…

Happy riding!

A small snowfield on Halo between Bacon Strip and Curt's cutoff is causing some muddy conditions but is fairly short. Cyclists should have no problem walking this small section. Between the lower snowboard bench and Lingles Loop, Total Recall has two large snowfield that are partially obstructing the trail for about 50 feet in sections; it will probably be there for about a few weeks or so. Mahogany Forest has four or five very large snowfields on north and northwest slopes that are either causing muddy conditions or completely obstructing the trail. The last snowfield close to the upper snowboard bench is quite steep and requires some scrambling. These are much deeper than on Halo and Total Recall, and will probably take a month or more to properly melting out. Besides the snowfields, Mahogany Trail is dry in most spots but really isn't worth it on a bike. On foot, maybe.
