Spring Gear Sale Events

  • May 7, 2022

    • Carson City Muscle Powered Gear Swap. The second annual Gear Swap presented by Muscle Powered. Buy and sell bikes, bike parts, hiking or backpacking gear, paddling stuff, snowshoes or ski gear, or pretty much any other gear for muscle-powered adventures (no hunting or used safety equipment please). Additional details and to registration to sell your stuff are available at their event website here.

  • May 14, 2022

    • Reno Kiwanis Biggest Little Bike Swap and Sale. This is a consignment sale so you bring your gear to be sold first thing in the morning, the sale runs all day, and you pickup what hasn’t sold at the end of the day. Kiwanis is charging 20% of sales as a fundraiser for their continued support of bike education and rehabilitation efforts. More details at their Facebook Events Page.

Trail Outlook: Dry and Gusty

  • We are getting close to the end of the wet season here. I’m marking the top of Mahogany Forest as firm/dry and barring major storms, this could be the start of summer riding conditions. Wind on Monday will stay high through sunset and return midday Thursday. Otherwise we are looking at calm, warm, and dry for the midweek across the mountain.

    • RW are having technical issues with their website. Registration will be onsite at the race: Reno Wheelmen are hosting their weekly Twilight Road Series Bike Race at Boca reservoir this week. This is a road race requiring riders to compete wheel to wheel out and back on a paved course. Come on out to the start/finish line to cheer riders on or race. Races are run in the order Beginner (Category C), Intermediate (Category B), and then Advanced (Category A) with checkin beginning at 5pm. There is no onsite registration. More details and registration link can be found on their event website here.

If you are new to TNRG rides, there is no mass start so bring a friend or introduce yourself to who ever is around when you set off. Ride as long as you like. Most TNRG rides will have an after ride social at the start point so if you want to join in, pay attention to the flow of riders heading back. Check their Facebook Group Page for the most current updates.

There is a one time waiver to be signed so give yourself enough time before the 5pm roll out to set up and sign in. This is an out and back with social pace on the out and choose your own adventure pace on the way back. Lights, including rear red, and reflective attire suggested as well as be prepared to service your own flats should that happen.
