Weekday Trail Outlook and Upcoming Events 2/07-2/13, 2022

Recent Trail Reports

  • February 2, 2022, 3:00pm:

    • Lower Evans was decent in the sunny spots but still ice/snow on shaded spots. Lots of footprints and ruts. -Collen C.

  • February 5, 2022, 1:00pm:

    • North Valleys Regional Park: Little to no wetness on the trails, basically all dry, with great dirt. Not busy at all. -Nick P.

Trail Outlook: Warming

  • That is all. Seriously. This week is getting warmer and otherwise conditions are going to continue their improving trend. There are really two major impacts on trails with this. First, we may see localized increases in mud where hanging cornices begin to melt in earnest but this is likely mitigated by extensive dry areas at the lower elevations. Second, overnights towards the end of the week are not going to freeze hard so mud will stay mud even in the early mornings.

This Week’s Events

  • Thursday, February 10:

      • Silver State Striders will be running hills in southwest Reno. Departing from the Eclipse Running, this is ~8-10 miles of pavement and hills. Lights and reflective attire required. More details on their website.
