Forest Closures:

The south and west shores of Tahoe remain under closure due to continued fire activity as well as burn scar remediation. Closure orders and detailed maps available here, and here.

This Week’s Events

• Tuesday, October 5:

  • 9:00am-12:00pm

    • Biggest Little Trail Stewards will be installing more trailhead kiosks and are looking for some volunteers to help. RSVP is requested. Contact Curtis at the number provided on the FB event listing.

  • 5:30pm:

    • Tuesday Night Ride Group, as their name suggests, will have their weekly mountain bike ride. The ride changes location each week so check their Facebook group or join their google email group to get direct updates. This week (10/5) they are riding at Sierra Vista Bike Park and rolling out around 5:30pm. If this is your first TNRG ride, know they don’t have a mass start or group guides so it’s on new riders to either bring their own friends or make some by introducing yourself.

  • 5:45pm:

    • Silver State Striders will be running at Bartlett Ranch Regional park. Departing from the Huffaker school parking lot, there are hilly 5 and 7.5 mile options. More details on their website.

• Wednesday, October 6:

  • 5pm

    • Reno Wheelmen’s casual Verdi road ride rolls as a group from the CVS parking lot at Booth and California Ave at 5pm. ~25 miles paved with the option to add loops in Verdi and multiple regroup points on the way out for those less familiar with the route. Open to members and non-members alike. Details on their website.

• Thursday, October 7:

  • 5:45pm

    • Silver State Striders are running the Steamboat Ditch Trail from the Wood Chuck Drive crossing out to Hole-In-The-Wall and back. Roughly 8 miles total out and back. More details on their website.

• Saturday, October 9:

  • Silver State Striders are also encouraging members to organize their own long run so visit their facebook group page for more on that.

• Sunday, October 10:

  • 8:00am:

    • Muscle Powered Carson city will be road riding from Fremont Elementary School.
