Weekend Outlook 8/05-8/08, 2021

RTC’s new FlexRide route runs between Galena and Incline Village/Sand Harbor. $5 one-way for all drops except Sand Harbor (+$2 to cover park entry). Multiple drop-off/pickup locations up on the mountain. And the vans have bike racks. ;) More details at the link. You have to call RTC to book this ride and if you want to take your bikes, book early. There are six seats on the bus but only 2 bike racks.

Trail Outlook

The heavy rains on the mountain last weekend have all dried up, but there is a nice crust at the moment that cuts down the moon dust. Temps for the weekend will be up and down depending on the day and wind will be the same way. Calm one day, blustery another. All this may be for naught. National Weather Service Reno is forecasting a shift of the winds tonight (thursday) bringing the heavy smoke back. So breathe it in while we have it and have an indoor backup plan.

As always, if you get out on the mountain, submit a trail report and let us know how it is. I’ll update the front page as reports come in.
