RTC’s new FlexRide route runs between Galena and Incline Village/Sand Harbor. $5 one-way for all drops except Sand Harbor (+$2 to cover park entry). Multiple drop-off/pickup locations up on the mountain. And the vans have bike racks. ;) More details at the link. Trail Outlook

Another triple digit weekend and this time without a cloud in the forecast. Get it in the early morning or near dusk for cooler temps and make sure to hydrate. The trees up higher make for a nice buffer too but even the TRT and Flume trail don’t escape the sweltering of the midday heat in these conditions. Be safe and have fun out there!

As always, if you get out on the mountain, submit a trail report and let us know how it is. I’ll update the front page as reports come in.

Random Fact: Despite a massive number of fault lines within the Basin & Range geologic region (Southern Idaho south to Baja including most of Nevada), Nevada has a tiny fraction of volcanoes relative to surrounding states. The youngest of which us hiding in plain sight on the west edge of Fallon.
