Trail Outlook

Dry but windy. The mountain is top to bottom dry or firm at this point, but wind is forecast for most of the day each day this weekend with a potential for trace snow/rain midday Sunday. Early mornings will be the best times to get out and enjoy. The winds are expected to be primarily coming from the West or South-West so trails wrapping around the North-East side from Hoge road may be the most protected while Sierra Vista and trails off the Las Brisas, Keystone, and Kings Row trailheads are the most likely to get direct blasts.

If you are swapping the running and riding for the last of the back country sliding, check out the latest avalanche conditions over at Sierra Avalanche Center. The corn snow is becoming more partitioned but late season avalanches have taken a harsh toll in the sierras in years past. Knowing where to look can make the difference of coming home.

If you get out, let us know what you saw by submitting a trail report.

Be kind, be safe, and enjoy.

Top to bottom, no major water for the moment.
